New member (STi owner).

Hey guys,

I'm patrick from Fredericksburg, Va.. currently own a 2007 STi, but i'm looking to either sell/trade in on an Evo 8/9 sometime within the next few months.

I'm an avid drag racer. I've always liked Evo's, and I figured it would cut my car payments down from $600/month.. So far there's not many cars in my area that look appealing so I'm just waiting.

My '07 STi is Stage 2 w/ meth and pretty much stock besides that. I ran a 12.3@110 last saturday at T&T, and have run a 12.2@112 on race gas last year. I just figured I'd say hey, and that I'm looking forward to trying out Evo powerrr.

Whats up man? I am from Harrisonburg. Not too far over the mountain from you. STI's are sweet but once you own an Evo you won't want anything else. Where are the 1/4 mile tracks around you?

I definetly agree with that. I have thought of getting another car for some more luxury, but after an evo everything else feels slow. Well at least in that same price range. Besides you can always customize your interior to make it look more classy.

Yea the STi is nice, but since I drag race mainly.. I realized that Evo's are much more capable than the STi's in that area. Plus I still get my great handling and AWD when I'm not at the track. I's like to be able to change my spark plugs in 5-10min, rather than 30-45min, and do cams/head/etc without pulling the whole engine. I go to MIR ( Budds Creek, MD) for 1/4 mile.

Haha, I don't care about luxury.. and from the pictures I've seen, I like the Evo interior. I haven't seen one in person before though.. Not to mention those sweet Recaro seats. The STi seats are teh sux!! I absolutely love the Evo exterior especially when they're wingless. It's what I plan on doing..

Haha, so my STi is now up for sale.. hopefully somebody will buy it.

But, I was wondering what year Evo I should be looking for? I know each year of STi has it's pros/cons and then there's the one year that's the best. I'm only interested in EVO 8 & 9.. thanks!!
