SSS or not, that is the Question?
Those of you EVO X owners who opted for the SSS package, was it worth the cost in retrospect? I am reading of issues with the sound system, and really the only thing I would want is the HIDs. Anyone here install aftermarket HIDs or a full out retrofit by yourself or Lightwerkz?
Sorry for noob questions, but I am coming from the Subaru world and looking to move into an EVO X by the end of Summer.
Thanks ahead of time.

I wouldn't have gotten an Evo X without the SSS. I've had no issues with the Rockford Fosgate system - it's awesome. The HID's are great and, as far as I can tell, can cost close to what the SSS package costs if you get a quality aftermarket setup. The spoiler? Myeh. It's alright. Definitely worth it for the sight and sound. I kinda regret not getting Navi.
I was in the same position also. I am very happy and don't regret my move of getting the SSS package. The HID and fast key make it all worth it! The stereo system is ok(not the greatest), but everything else makes it worth it. Get it.

Only thing bad about the SSS is the bass is not as deep as my friend or I would like & the iPod connection downgrades the sound quality a lot, compared to other head units w/the plug-in at the base. It's pretty crisp w/ cds though.
I like my SSS/ Aero, but if I had it to do again I would try to find a way to leave the Rockford system out. The stereo isn't loud enough for me with the windows down and now I will be rewiring the whole system and adding external amps b/c the stock amp doesn't work with aftermarket head units. There is a fix that involves wiring the aftermarket hu basically inline with the stock hu. The stock hu sits inside the dash. This has a couple limitations like everytime the battery is disconnected for a period of time the stock hu has to be turned back on, and the eq on the aftermarket hu is limited to the stock hu's frequency limitations.
