lmao so true. EvolutionM is like my anti-drug. Id be overdosing on heroin if I wasnt modding the evo.

Theres a button in the upper right of the screen that reads "search". Type some keywords in there like "Basic mods", or "Evo 8 engine specs" and you're off and running. Dont rush into anything as Im pretty sure you'll regret it.

lol i was in your situation when i started last july. you start where you evo tells you to start. Example my exhaust leak i stated earlier well i could not roll with the family and girls with the car smelling like that. so i started with looking up exhaust system preformance gains and how they sound. then since im there i looked up downpipes. Got that done now im like i need to change fluids looked that up might as well give the engine some flavor got some colored hoses darn i cracked my radiator looked that up etc etc etc etc etc. thats how you go about it before you know it you will be a mini evo guru and learn new stuff as we all do everyday and learn with parts to buy and what parts to buy to save tons of money and still get the same effect as the MORE OVERLY PRICED ones good luck

better watch yourself with all the soooo called 10-13k evos remember you get what you pay for. might cost you another 7-10k to fix all the problems with it. I have seen people buy cars that look good and smelled good but ending up being a nightmare fix. then i seen people just plain get lucky. How lucky are you???

i am kind of in the same boat. the evo will be my second car and will be my first clutch. Ive been learning on my friends pos civic so ive been getting better. Ive done alot of research on exhausts licp's and other bolt on mods since this isnt going to be a track car. Most likely going to go with an evo 8 for around 18k

As mentioned by most people prior to me...you get what you pay for and finding an EVO in the range of 13-18 grand is gonna be tough. IF you do its probably been beat to hell and back...so your gonna end up spending more on repairs so...buy a EVO with fewer miles and costs a little more...it will be well worth it in the long run.. BTW EVO retain there value...so just spend the extra cash if you can.

I agree with the above. You definitely get what you pay for. I also suggest waiting for what you truly want to buy. Don't jump at the first "deal" that you think you're getting.

You know nothing about the car, but know that you want one. Does that make any bit of sense?

Are you aware of the maintinence costs? (Ill assume since you know nothing about the car going in that you wont be doing the work yourself) Insurance costs? You know nothing about which models were even available in the US, what makes you want an Evo?

I think you should spend some time reading on this and other Evo sites to determine if this car is right for you. I am not trying to wear Evo ownership as a badge of honor or refer to it as some sort of up scale exclusive club. Anyone can buy an Evo, that does not mean the car is for everyone.

I completely agree, I have been researching for the last few weeks, and everytime I look at another thread, or talk to someone, I learn a little more. The biggest thing that I have found, is the general maintenance. Upgrading the Evo isnt required, but staying up to date on oil changes, transmission fluid changes, replacing water pump/timing belt at appropriate time.... driving the clutch effectively .... all of these and many more as mentioned come with the fun of driving an Evo.

Good luck in the hunt for an Evo, I'm hoping to have one picked out for myself by mid-summer (if not by then I'll have to put it off till next year )
