They won't be black. They will be a smoked chrome color. It'll still be reflective but it won't be silver like an Evo 8's headlights.








Also, go look in your engine bay. Your valve cover should say MIVEC TURBO like this one:

 

Look at your tach. Does it have 3 LEDs next to 'Tarmac', 'Gravel', and 'Snow' settings?

All SE's (or all 9's for that matter) should. If it doesn't, you either have an 8 or a cluster from an 8 ('03-'04).

As others have mentioned, the MIVEC valve cover is another indication as well.

Do you have the BBS rims?

 

does it have HIDS?

 

how bout some pics. dont use toothpaste on your lights lol.... wet sand them, polish and wax them.

yea prolly carfax it, we know its a IX for sure twin scroll mivec the whole IX yards we were just currious as to why the seats were swaped, the SE red stitch recaros are much nicer than the 8's maybe it was striped or he sold the red stitch recaros for a good $$$ got me. but yea the head lens is clear and backing is chrome where as my IX se is clear lens black backing and i got mine brand new 3 miles on it. we'll carfax it and see what turns up, either way one of the nicest we found with low miles and not a ton of aftermarket(ragged and raced) we wanted a stock as posible foundation. thanks fort all the replys -Method06

 

odds are the previous owner sold the seats and lights. sucks you didnt get the oe gear, but i doubt its that big of a deal. as for the acd button, thats just strange.. any pictures of it?

Dude from what you are saying/showing to us, that car does not look/sound very stock at all, if the previous owner took the seats and headlights out to swap for 8 parts, then who know what the engine could've looked like previously. I would say the only good thing about all the parts swaping is you got a full carbon fiber wing... do you have HID's? if the fog button is up there, what's down below right next to the leveling button?
BTW, your roomates lights are black chrome, not just flat black

 

yea full hid and have adjuster, yea black chrome just was cutting text down and said black

I'll ask this question...... To everyone out there with an 06 EVO 9 SE that are NOT Tarmac Black..... What color background are your headlights?? Are they all chrome or do they have the blacked out "Black Chrome" background. I have no question this is an evo IX or an SE, just why swap seats, why swap headlights, why swap spoilers, why swap dash trim, if swaped at all???.. so far i forget who said it i think the dude sold them for extra $$$ and lewisville mitsubishi replaced w/what they had???thanks for all the replys-Method09

 

yes the reason would be to make some money, also someone said it could be a theft recovery so they replaced whatever was taken with whatever available. The headlights are the same for all evo IX's, even if it is an RS, IX or MR/SE, the black chrome for all of them, only 8's had chrome housings.
