Hello from the home of the Evo!
Hello from the home of the Evo!
Morning all from the home of the Evo, sushi and bizarre tentacle pornography: Japan! Have been living in Okinawa in southern Japan since mid-2004 and an original gangster Evo 1 GSR owner for the past couple of years. Car is primarily used as a daily driver, but I drag it whenever there are tournaments on (at the moment my best time is an 11.68s 1/4 mile on surface more akin to ice skating).
Just blown piston number 3 though running 1.65-1.85bar on stock internals and so am in the process of pricing up parts for a rebuild. Anyway, that's about it from me except for a couple of pictures. Hope to chat to guys soon in the forums and I know a couple of things about the early Evos so might be able to help out on that side of things.

What were you doing in Japan? I've been here 4 and a half years dive instructing and teaching. Am not a vendor by any means, but if you want me to try and source you any parts from Japan, let me know. Can't guarantee anything but I'll look around and see what I can find.
Spent time there learning the language, and then came back a second time to work at a company as an engineer.
Not ready for any JDM parts yet, just got my car not ready to change it yet :-)
But I bet a soon as some other members find out your in Japan you may be getting more questions about it.
