Im only road tuned now so im not sure of my current power!!
I would go e85 if I could. I'm doing meth (50/50) on my stock turbo, but I have a IX and I'm not sure about the VIII. There are some people with horror stories but as long as you have a good kit with a good failsafe (and a good tuner) you should be fine.

If you do 100% meth you might have to do more maintenance, and one of the worst things you can do is not use the system (e.g. - store it for a long period of time without the proper storage maintenance, etc.). I went meth because e85 is too far away to make it worthwhile and I don't want to store a bigass drum in the garage. The 92 grade in WA was also fairly varied from station to station (in my area) and I was getting repeatable knock on fill-ups.

The way I see it is meth or e85 will work well with bolt-ons as an addition to foundation pieces and it will also wake up a red so I opted to do meth first. With bolt-ons + cams I'm at 386whp/356 lb-ft for ~$4k investment.

I would recommend the Front Mount and LP2 for sure. If you can do E85 and Injectors as well, you will have one mean car on your hands. If you need any help deciding which parts to get, let me know!

Thanks,

Michael

Yes,

The stock 8 turbo, even though it's smaller then the 9 turbo can still make good power. A good budget upgrade on the turbocharger would be a 9 turbo, but not needed if you plan to upgrade down the road anyway.

Thanks,

Michael

Run! Run, from that intercooler. It's going to be the biggest pain you have ever dealt with. The mounting tabs are going to be wrong, the intercooler is a straight through internal fin design, it doesn't use staggered fins, so the charged air is going to blow right by the cooler without really cooling. They have a tendency to heat soak. The pipe also will not be a direct bolt on. It's better to use an intercooler kit that will be a direct replacement, 4ply silicone, t-bolt clamps, etc.

Stay away from eBay!! I hear way to many horror stories, in regards to eBay intercoolers. I always have customers telling me they wish they purchased from us to start out with instead of buying the intercooler twice.

Good Luck!!

Michael
