I'm new to the forum in general... have been browsing these threads for months now, searching for the perfect evo for me...

I found it a couple of weeks ago.... right here in Indy too!

I'm now a proud owner of a 2005 Silver Evo 8 SSL.

Purchased it from BQuicksilver on the forum.

Firstly, kudos to BQ. Extremely clean car, inside & out. Excellent & honest chap, very easy to work with, & a very detail oriented person. Purchase went smooth as silk... thanks BQ! Here's a for you!

Now for the car, I got it with 35k miles. Its almost completely stock, apart from a boost gage, and a down pipe.

It's been 4 days I have it now, and I just LOVE it! It's so damn difficult to stay off of the boost in the city and keep away from the cops! O man, I put 300 miles on it over the weekend

What a jump up from the 94 teggy I used to drive!

I've already changed her oil on Sunday, and washed her squeaky clean

congrats. i have the same prob, when i got mine 2 months ago i could get 22-23mpg with daily driving. now that i know how to get on the boost in every possible situation i am down to 19-20 mpg. still, my previous vette only got 17-19mpg so that aint to bad. i cant wait to get my car on the track.

 

haha when i first got my car i was driving fast all the time i loved the sounded of that turbo lol but since then i havnt been driving it to hard.

 

i have a silver ssl as well but its an 06'. congrats and welcome to your new addiction. thank god you didnt buy an X you made the right choice! 4g63T FTW

 

) thanks for the welcome! i'm enjoying my evo every day now.... in fact, it's pretty much all i think about... a motivation to get up for work, and a motivation to get out of work early

but oh my god, all the dings from the rock chips is killing me... i want to maintain a prestine exterior, but its impossible! there are chip offs from the rocks everywhere! and i don't even drive on dirt roads or anything! :-(

it kills me from the inside to see a new chip off each time i look at my exterior....



i've also learned to not drive on boost now :-) so in the city, i;m driving like a grandpa ...
