correct way to organize group buys at evom?

ok im just a lowly member with no association with any vendor. I have been to lancer meets in my city and I thought, "hey since we all want xyz, why dont we all order it together and have it shipped to one location so we can save on the shipping costs?"

i did that here, and I was warned by a section mod that i was bordering "vending". so how am i supposed to properly organize a group buy for a product me and other members who live in the same vicinity? i dont want to break any rules.. and i dont believe i have broken any but i was still warned to "edit my post"

This rule is common. Most sites won't let you organize a group buy unless you are a sponsor. What I would recommend is using a site like www.gotogroupbuy.com. This site let's buyers post a group buy just go gauge interest. You can also transfer the group buy to a seller. Use gotogroupbuy.com to organize your list first. Then support the sponsors on evolutionm.net by inviting them to take over.

Or you can approach a vendor that selling the item you and your friends want and let them know: "I have X amount of buyers locally and online that would be interested in a item." And ask them if they could give a better price based on the amount of participants and let them post it.

Atl least thats the way it worked on Honda-tech
