depends on what you wanna do with the car, but for all out racing (drag or any type of racing) the RS version is the one to get..lighter has the aluminum roof, cheaper to buy... but the down side is no radio, speakers, power lock doors, power windows, no hid's, spoiler, bilsten shocks, rear wiper (who needs that) thats why we have the rear defrost... or vortex generator, and wheels...

I have the MR version and can't complain about it i actually love mines...Can't go wrong since it's the EVO...
what ever choice you make you will be happy with...

HID's were a must for me (factory). All AWD cars have a possibility of the tranny going out...or the ACD. The 6spd transmission is more expensive to fix....and more expensive to rebuild through Shep or TRE.

Not knocking the MR....if I didn't find such a good deal/situation locally I'd still be looking for a 06 IX MR in white with low miles.

MR if you're never planning on making over 400WHP or drag racing. Anything else if otherwise.

No, they're not. How could a 5 speed clutch be the same as a 6 speed clutch? Think about it....

6 Speed clutches are ALWAYS more expensive than 5 speed. Don't believe me? Check the vendor section and see for yourself.

Yeah I'm just making stuff up Go down your homework. 5 speeds are cheaper to fix and/or service. It's a fact.

arghhh enough about the 5 or 6 speed.... both are good with vulnerabilities... if u want a drag, autocross car get the 5 speed... daily driver 6 speed... simple as that... i have 360 whp on a 6 speed, and with the 6 speed im do about 3k at 80mph on the highway which is great... to each there own, but everyone pls stop the whole 5 vs 6 speed argument, its boring and pointless...

remember that the 5sp's have there share of problems also, like bad 3rd 5th syncros!
They are thicker, but the shafts are closer together (or something like that) so the gears are not as wide. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether that offsets to increased thickness.

And at highway speeds, the difference in RPM between the 6 and the 5 is pretty small.

I found that the 6 spd spacing is a little off for mountain runs, and leaves me having to shift 2-3-2 a lot more than I would like, but I have never taken a 5 spd through the mountains so can not say whether it is any better. Plus, with the 6 spd, I spend a lot of time in 4th which is the weak gear.

But that said, my MR shifts better now than it did new, with stock power and 10 or so ham-fisted-shifting track days lolz and a fresh set of fluids every few events

LOL I was just about to comment on that also.. I was going to ask HOW would they be different?

Anyways, I have a TB IX MR SE (an MR with the appearance package of an SE) and I must say I love my car.. My friends have told me it shifts nicer than the 5 speed. I also find the ride quality of the MR much more tolerable because of the Bilsteins (for those who are sensitive to ride quality).

Regardless of what people are saying about the MR, I am going to find me a WW IX MR (Hoping for an SE on top of that) eventually.
