so i live up in wa. are shell stations are 92oct here and i just read an ad today stating that shell is now enriching its mix with more nitrogen or something???? would that have any effect on our cars [evos]? should i start filling up elsewhere? what are ppls take on this issue?

 

Shell or Sunoco 93 all I use. Anything else is not friendly to my knock sensor

 

I ONLY fill up with Shell 93.

The Nitrogen Enriched fuel they have now isn't going to hurt your car, if anything it helps by cleaning out gunk. Come on now.

 

i've never had a problem with it... it's all I use too..

 

cool thanks guys, i was just wondering because i recently fueled at shell with 92 oct and my knock sensor has been going off like crazy! i thought maybe the fuel i used might have caused it

 

The whole Nitrogen thing seems to be a marketing gimmick, imo. Normal air we breath is 78% Nitrogen, so what is adding some to fuel going to do?

 

Nitrogen...like liquid Nitrogen? Pretty soon V-Power will be NOS, haha.
