daily driver

Right now my daily driver is a 1996 trans am. Love the TA fun to drive expect in the snow. I live in the midwest and on dirt roads so lately I have been looking at finding a newer car that has plenty of power to destroy mustangs at the stop light but a solid ride when bad weather hits. So I've decided either EVO or STI. If anyone could let me know how the they like driving their evo in snow, ice, etc.... would really help me out

You'll not be able to drive it very well with stock tires. I replaced them with all season tires and we didn't have any significant snow fall after that but I did notice with the new tires that it stopped and turned much better on the light snow. I can't wait to try them out next winter!

The Evo is a blast to drive in the snow. Last winter I used all-seasons, which handled pretty well, but this year I think im going to break down and buy a set of Blizzaks. Ive heard nothing but good things about those.

For little $$ you can have a much quicker Evo than what comes out of the box. Suby not so much. Where in the midwest are you?

Evos are great in the snow, however, much does depend on the tires (as with any vehicle), and the stock tires (Advans) arent meant for snow by any means....

btw, as far as "destroying mustangs at stoplights", street racing isnt encouraged nor discussed here....

good luck with your decision...

The Evo sits higher out of the box then the STI and it's much more mechanic friendly, both engines have been around for ever. If you’re going to spend much time off road I would pick the Evo the spark plugs and fuel rail are too close to the ground in the subi for my liking.

The Evo sits higher then the Sti is definitely a plus for me. BTW i live in Nebraska so weathers always changing sounds like the EVO is the car for me.....And about racing the rustangs I don't encourage street racing either, but there are a ton of mustangs in my area like to show them my taillights
