I've heard that intake exhaust tune and cams can get around 400. Is this bull?

Now stop buying stuff off ebay and save your money for parts that'll last.

Maybe cams + meth or e85 plus all the other supporting mods but not on pump gas.

sorry there is no way that you can make 400 with those mods unless your using Meth, C16, or other high octane options. You also prob don't want 280 duration cams, unless its an all out race car, they don't make power until higher in the rpm band. Search for the AMS cam comparison, that will help you make a informed decision. I can tell you that I made 356whp and 336 tq running 1.65bar with the stock 8 turbo and 93octane, and it takes more then intake, cams, tune and exhaust to reach 400. For me the following was necessary to reach the 350 mark (on a Dyna Pack 5000):

Autronic Full Stand Alone ECU
Intake with MAS removed
Turbo Outlet Housing Back Exhaust, no Cat, no resonator
Boost controller
WORKS 269 Cams, spring and retainers
Full intercooler pipe set
Head Studs
New Belts
Fuel Pump
680cc injectors
Lighter clutch/Flywheel
Lightened Crank Pulley

I mentioned a couple of those things to remind you that you must look at what supporting mods you will need.

Before you get tuned, get yourself a boost controller, boost gauge, lower intercooler pipe is a good bang for the buck HP mod.

Other things to consider

Shifter end link bushings
Shifter base bushings
SS clutch lines and brake lines
Rear sway bar
Lower chassis tie bars

These mods will give your EVO a better feel overall

As for the clunk I know there are several threads regarding this issue just search clunk and you should find your answer.

Nice Lotus...is it stock?

Welcome, your going to love your decision to get the Evo instead of the STI.

The evo 8 turbo is a limiting factor along with stock 560cc injectors, On an evo 9 turbo and cams with a tune you should be able to get pretty close.

Wow, sounds like that was a crock of **** about the 400whp, maby it was 400crank. Either way thats a heck of a mod list casper, may I ask why the ecu was needed? What is the deal with ethanol? All I know about it is a guy in my series has a 615awhp sti running on it. I have ethanol avaliable if its gonna make me more power. The car does have a boost guage but its a really ****ty brand, I know the car would gain a TON from a tune and some adjustments because it spikes boost to 23lbs then lvls off at 20 untill redline.
One of the deciding factors for the evo was the il4, theres absoutely no chance i'd be able to work on the sti motor.
I'm gonna take it to mitsu tommorow and the car should be perfect after. Depending on the bill i'll get a motor mods list going.
As for the cam I don't mind a cam that comes on at 5k or so because it seems like the car falls on its face right now past 6k.

Thanks about the Lotus, it is my fathers and I drive it more than he does lol, it is stock other than tires.

IMO better pick of cams and few more boltons you would have been at 400 if not 390whp

Alright, So I talked to Mike at my local Mitsu and got some quotes for the issues.... Lot of money and i'm talking with the dealer about how there gonna fix their issue. The'll have a final decision on what they can do for me first thing tommorow morning so hopefully all this is resolved shortly so I can buy the parts I need to for it and get this thing on the track ASAP. The transfer case the diff is gone and needs some other parts so i'm praying the dealer backs these problems.
Also turns out the warranty they sold me will cover absoutely nothing so there going to refund me the 1500 I spent on that and that will likely go right into the motor on this bad boy.
Mike at Baierl Mitsu is a real cool guy and was really helpful to me to diagnose my problems and will deff have the car their again, also met Mr. Zambelli and his GG evo 9 which was pretty ill.
