Just make sure that deposit is refundable....... Some people be shady like that......

An Evo is like a girlfriend. I mean seriously.

Look at it this way. She's hot. You want her. But you don't know her history.

For all you know she could've been with multiple other guys (in this case owners) and been ****ed like there was going to be no tomorrow. (In this case its your clutch.)

1) Get a Carfax
2) Get a reputable mechanic to check out the vehicle
3) Get documents pertaining to the vehicle and make sure there are no discrepancies
4) Ask about warranty information (if any at all for a used Evo)
5) Test drive the darn thing
6) Nitpick every little thing (Gives your leverage on the price)
7) And if all else fails, do not be afraid to walk away.

Moral of the Story: Better get a good car (girlfriend) than to get one with problems. (STD's anyone... and found out too late and you already hit it....... Uber Fail) (Don't be afraid to wait for another.)

Hope that analogy works for you! =)

My Evo <<< I R 2nd Owner, Bought from a dealership, had a couple problems but easily fixed but was driven by a old guy with a midlife crisis. Stock original clutch baby! *Ching Ching* (^_^)

..... I think I'm going to marry this one...... *cry* *tears* LOL.

i've been looking for the past few months and haven't found very many yet
i'd have to agree that WW IX MR is very hard to find.

That's not true. WW and GG IX MR's are probably the easiest MR's to find. Tarmac Black and Rally Red are the hardest IX MR's to find. Tommy Lee, you have a lot of research to do. I researched for a year and a half before I bought my Evo. You should have test drove some too.

PS, here's a tip. If you have a question and it's kind of "noobish", read up on it before you post it. These guys are like pitbulls out here... Most Evo owners are a**holes.

Ive been researching for about 7 months now, because I was forced to let my S2000 go. So i was looking for a cheaper, bigger, similar performance car for a while and this car caught my eye. In the east coast, Silver and GG are the most common IX MR's and WW seems to be very very hard to find here. I've also driven 5 different IX's, 4 MR's and 1 IX SE. I've even driven a stock ix mr but the rest were modded. I really wanted a WW IX MR after I saw one up for a sale but it had a salavage title and was over priced (29k). Hopefully the one I ordered isnt to bad, I havent test drove it or seen it in person but the person whos selling it to me is going to make sure everything is working and running like OEM. The dealer I bought it from in Texa's left it with a Mitsubishi Dealer and is repairing the clutch and everything else before I send my payment. I might also fly down there and give him the check in person so I can check it out for myself before I give him the money.

Don't buy a car unless you have driven it. If you are worried about finding an unmodified car, you won't effectively do it online. If that's the one you want, fly down there, drive the car, take it to a reputable shop and have them look over it before you decide. If you can wait or can settle for something else closer, do that instead. Take one of the friends that drives an Evo to help you rather than relying on a forum. There's always the possibility you are buying someone else's problem.

Or you can simply learn the hard way.

What does a aftermarket BOV do? Should I be concerned and ask them to restore it to OEM?

I don't mean to be a d*** but for 7 months of research and still not knowing what a BOV does it looks like to me you rushed into buying a car u know nothing about. Try to get your deposit back and look locally for and evo that u like. Bring someone who knows about evos or at least owns one. Buying an evo over the internet that u never seen or diven is not the way to do it.

Ok well i have seen it many times people buy there evos over the internet then a few weeks later there posting up threads about hundred if not thousands of dollars they had to spend to fix the car. I dont want to see u go through that, buying an evo should be a great fun experience not one with problems and heart aches.
