Question Questions about newly bought IX MR

Does anyone know if its stock? I asked the dealer and they said "To my knowledge it is stock". So I asked a few people to look at the picture and they said theres a aftermarket BOV and a battery was replaced. Also there could have been a intake system that was taken off? Also today I found out the clutch needs to be replaced and the dealer is fixing it for me, should I be worried that the car was abused? I also bought the car online for 22800, it currently has 28500 miles on it. Did I get a good deal? From what Ive seen a lot of Evo MRs are around this price. I even seen a evo 9 mr go for 29900 with 21500 miles being sold. I'm getting the car in a week or 2.

1. looks like the UICP is comming off, the clamp seems to not be on all the way for starters
2. BOV
3. New Battery
4. Ugly *** painted heat shield
5. Throttle Cable relocated off valve cover to behind it. (looks better)
6. missing cover off positive battery terrinal and it looks like its rubbing through the UICP

thats all i can see from the crappy pics

and yes thats a decent deal. sold my ix mr with 63k miles for 21k

Also I am a newbie what is a UICP? Should I be worried about any of the problems you listed?

You should've asked these questions "BEFORE" you bought the car.

And most likely it was abused.

22k miles and a new clutch already? I'm on 55k miles on stock original clutch!

it also has the hose clamp from the intake/turbo on the intercooler pipe instead of the original worm clamps

i would get the tune checked out on the car and have it flashed back to a stock tune since you dont know what the car had on it before

BTW - the UICP is the pipe with the black hose connected to it that is directly to the right of the motor. Is it bad to have that clamp - possibly not but you'd find out in a hurry if you hear a pop while driving and all of a sudden lose power.

Agreed with others that you should research more before buying but it is possible that you got a good deal. Best of luck.

If you were in Southern California, you would find PLENTY of WW IX MR's !
AND you would get a wayyy better deal here than ANYWHERE ELSE! [:

But heeeey, at least you got an evo still and at a reasonable price!
