Newb Service Question

Prior to my current Evo, I had a civic But now since I'm an Evo X Owner, its about time for its first service. I was just wondering if the manufacturers service was anything special? I mean I might as well do it myself as I did with the Si. But since the Si was a much simpler car, this is why I ask. I just plan on topping of all the fluids and doing a full check on everything - wheels, brakes, topping off all fluids. So is there anything the dealer can do that I can't?

at 3800 its basically just normal maintenance, oil and filter change. however, going to the dealer, altho expensive, will keep it on record that you have been doing your services. if you do them on your own, keep accurate, detailed records showing date of purchase, what u purchased (receipts for oil and filter will suffice, just write the mileage on them and date/initial or sign them, store them in a secure place so if ever going in for warranty work you have it on file). your bigger services, 30k, 60k etc, personally i would recommend a dealer, or other shop knowledgeable in these cars. i would also recommend going to to the dealer for your oil filter. that car was designed with 1 oil filter in mind, so on my car (yes i work at a dealer) i use the mitsu filter. not terribly expensive, about 7-8 bucks, just a few dollars more than most aftermarkets.
