Ghetto Bra Needed?

Hello im going to be taking a road trip in the evo thats abt 7hrs. As many people on here I love my evo and I know the paint on this car sucks. I dont have a front bra on this car to stop rock chips. Is it going overboard to wrap the front end in blue painters tape just for the 7 hr trip? Its going to look mad ghetto on the road

I would do it if I don't have the time to get clear bras. Who cares if it looks ghetto, when you really care about is the paint underneath the tape. Just bring an extra roll of painter's blue tape for touch ups.

I think its a great idea. Any car guy will know exactly what's up. Ignorant people probably won't even notice.

On a 2 hour drive to an AutoX event, my buddy used lime green painters tape on the front of his 135i. Needless to say, it turned heads, but he was the only one at the event with a clean front bumper!

lol, @ wrapping, but if it's cost effective, go for it, would it cause paint damage?

I would like to know this as well. Is there any risk of the adhesive part of the tape sticking to the paint after being on the car over a period of time? I drive from VA to NY from time to time and thats almost a 6 hour drive and would like to start protecting the paint more than I have been.

no risk just give your car a wash afterwards and dont keep the tape on for more than a day

THE GOOD: the ghetto bra stopped plenty of bugs and rock chips no left over residue in over 90 degree weather. I pullld over to get gas and was glad and the road grime wasnt on my car

The BAD: abt 3/4 of my way there there was a thunderstorm and plenty of rain .. So the bra removed itself all over 81 South.

would I do this again YES would I check the weather before I leave YES
