Looking into getting this Evo Someone help.

I have owned several evos in the past.

This car is still on the stock clutch

Tuned at 20 PSI

Im worried that this car may be a little to many mods.

The mods that throw me off are the fuel pressure regulator and HKS ground system.

He says its been the stock turbo the whole time and its been to the track twice for testing. What ever that means.

Asking $27000 with 15K on the clock 06 evo 9 SE

Here is the info
for sale 2006 evo 9 SE edition. This is very rare car and was build by professional . These are some of mods that was installed. KW variant 3 Clubsports coilover with adjustable bump steer, ganodor side mirror with eletric adjustable, short antenna, Authority carbon fiber exhaust shield, Beatrush under tray panel, Auto meter(boost, oil pre, oil temp, exhaust temp) innovate wideband XD16, MSD led shift light, Apex turbo timer, Auto dimmer rear mirror with home link, Pioneer with iphod head unit, ralliart shift knob, HKS reloaded racing intake, HKS ground ssystem, Mini odssey battary, Greddy oil catch tank, Fuel lab fuel pressure regulator with gauge, JUN exhaust 3" down pipe, test pipe and catback, Titek 02 housing, Buschur racing upper intercooler, ETS intercooler, Samco radiator hose, Carbing radiator cooling plate, Hallman Pro RX boost controler in cabin, walbro fuel pump, Beatrush rear strut bar-floor bar- front member support bar-front performance bar, Performance friction 2-piece rotors with pagid brake pads, Beatrush shift base bushing. Always garage kept, non- smoker and adult owned, no accidents

I know a fair amount about these cars but i dont know why you would need a HKS ground system idk what that even is.

Also a fuel pressure regulator would you need this for a stock turbo car?

Thanks
Ian T

Please let me know your ideas

Its almost impossible to find a car that hasn't had many mods on it. At least the post appears to be straightup. Its no different then seeing cars that appear stock but had been modified ot hell and the TCase/Tranny/Clutch is about to go out. Best bet is to find someone local and honest and try your best to gauge how truthfl they are being about there car.

ground system is not anything to worry about.I do think that guy is askingway too much for that car.You dont get to add the cost of your mods on the price of the car

The mod list sounds fine, nothing too extreme. Definitely over-priced though.

I really dont see much wrong with it. I agree with most that it is over priced...

A grounding system is about 5 wires, maybe more maybe less, that connect to the negative post on the battery. It gives your charging system more connectivity with the chassis making it work better. Some claim it gives you a bit of HP but thats kinda false. But it will help your electricals to perform better, lights, radio, gauges, things like that.

About the FPR. I had a SARD on my Evo 3 and it was there to control the over flow from the Walbro 255 I had installed. I had the stock turbo in there but when uping the boost and freeing up flow it needed more fuel that why those were put in. Theres nothing wrong with an aftermarket FPR it just helps with the increase flow of a high flow fuel pump.

OK so i have checked breaks look good nice and red still on stock clutch which is huge. Car is tuned at 19PSI the heat sheild is still in place and manifold bolts dont look to be turned at all. Car is in amazing shape inside and out.

Im not worried about price i will work on that.

So nothing in that list throughs a red flag he said he took it to the track twice but he must have not driven it hard because i know the brakes turn dark fast. Rotors are slotted and drilled though.

Seems like an honest guy.

What is the easiest way to tell if a Tcase or diff is going bad. Just listen for a whine?

Grounding system does nothing basically.

A little expensive though, I can't see it being worth that much. Not even 25.

I was wondering this as well. I'm planning on flying down to buy an Evo and was going to bring it to Mitsubishi to have a buyer's inspection. Would they catch this at the dealer?
