Did all IXs come with FREE Maintenance 3yr/45k???

I searched the forum and couldn't find a concrete answer.

I just bought a used 06 IX SE w/ 9k miles and it has 3yrs left on warranty and from my understand what would be 1yr/45k left on the maintenance. I called the dealer today and gave my VIN and they said they have never heard of this FREE Maintenance on any Evo.

Can someone provide me with facts on this?

They also said oil changes every 3k @ $64.95 and some valve cleaning/adjustment at 15k @ $249.95.

If I can get it for FREE, Id rather of course!

Thanks!

-Justin

That would be something the dealer would have offered to the original purchaser. If it was given to the original purchaser of your vehicle it would have been up to the dealer if the deal transferred to the next owner.

More than likely you do not have any free maintenance coming your way.

No free maintenance here meng. Dealer threw in 3 free oil changes, that was it. Now I do all maintenance myself - religously. For $$$ purposes and peace of mind.

Mitsu calls for oil changes every 5k miles and there is no such thing as cleaning/adjusting the valves on these cars.

I know that SouthCoast Mitsu does/did free oil changes for 5 years if you bought the car there...but I'm not sure if it is transferrable. I do know though that the offer is only valid for evo's bought at one of their dealerships though.

Mine came with 1 free oil change too and that's it. It was a good thing it was free because it came out to something insane like $92.

Gotta love dealerships.

Whoa $92? The $25 I paid for a regular oil change, I thought the $5-10 savings wasn't worth the hassle (old car) but with places doubling or tripling the cost because oil cost like $10 more, it's just insane. I do oil changes myself and 30K service myself. 60K I'll have to pay someone for though.

I got the free oil changes, however, by the time I drive to and from the closest dealer, I could change it myself in less time. Factor in the fuel, price is about the same.
