In the Market for an Evo X
In the Market for an Evo X
Hey guys, like the title says, i've been in the market for an Evo X for the last few weeks. Currently, i rock a tastefully modded 05 mazda rx8 (which I absolutely love) but i think it's now time for a change. I have yet to test drive the Evo X, and i'll get around to doing that soon. Let me know what I should expect going from a smooth rotary powered rx8 to the ferociously fast evo (the rx8 is my first car). Thanks in advance guys
ps. Don't flame me, i did do a search..... [=

Its not going to chip or be damaged unless you come in contact with rocks. I had some minor pepper like chips on the back doors from rocks, the tires pick up alot of stuff. I recommend front Ralliarmor flaps. I use front and back but you only really need the fronts.
Most all paint isnt what it used to be.

none taken. i know the rx8 isn't the fastest thing on the road, i bought it because i love the styling and it's unique rotary engine. The evo X just looks so damn mean.. I'm torn between the gunmetal gray and the white.
where on long island are you located? maybe i can point you in the direction of a good dealer. Also the X is pretty sweet. I had an 06 STI before this and they both have their goods and bads but I love the car choice I made and would not regret it.

I agree with the comment about the Rally Armor Mudflaps. I got a set within the first 1k miles I put on the car and haven't had any paint chipping issues on the side/rear of my car. The front is another story, but that is to be expected with any car when you drive on major highways
Overall it's a great car. It's fun to drive, gets a lot of looks, and from my experience is rock solid. I have almost 7k miles on it since early March when I got it and haven't had any problems. You won't be disappointed.

It's a great car. It won't feel a lot faster than the RX-8 because it's heavier, but it is faster. On top of that, the Evo X can gain up to 70 whp from a $350 dyno tune with no aftermarket mods installed.
Plus the Evo community is really awesome (way better than the Mazdaspeed and SRT community from my experiences).
Make sure you don't pay too much for it. Right now with the ridiculous Mitsu incentives you should be able to steal one from a Dealership. I got my Graphite Gray GSR for $27kish with 2.9% interest and that's not even a great deal compared to what others have received.

Also...the Rx8 are good cars, but like what everyone else has said, driving an X is amazing compared to the Rx8...especially the AYC and S-AWC.
Congrats in advance, and the grey one is definately not a bad choice. Oh yeah.. post pics too!
You will have an easier time finding the grey....I'm not sure if there are any white cars available (if only a few that are new) in the country. If you do find one it will most likely be hard to negotiate the price. I would hurry as the 2010's will not be nearly as a good of a deal.
