Q about Diff fluid change

I recall reading somewhere on here a while ago (though I couldnt find it thru the search) someone asking about changing their diff fluid and that supposedly it had to be done by the dealership because it can't be done without the computer. Is this true, does the dealership have to do the diff fluid or is it just a simple drain and refill?

I remember reading that post, but that was for the acd fluid.
All other drive train fluids are simple drain and fill.

If you're the original owner and your warranty is still active, just keep records of what you did. You don't need to go to the stealers for this.

Yeah, it's the ACD that supposedly requires the computer. You can do it without though. You just need to know the trick to activate the pump.

Ah ok right right then I guess it was the ACD, so what is the trick then for that so that I dont have to go to the dealer because my 30,0000mi service is due.

I was at the dealer the other day and the service guy mentioned it had to be done there because they have to do something with a computer. He wasnt tryin to be a dick either he's probably one of the nicest service dudes Ive ever met hes been hookin it up for me with some stuff that needed quick fixes, and Im modded (thus, no warranty) and he didnt charge me AND I didnt even buy the car from them.
