Hmmm, i think you need to refine your search techniques, cuz I know it's been answered before. But anyway, the only way something voids your warranty is if it is the actual item that causes something to go wrong. A test pipe will certainly not do that. Most test pipes have an O2 sensor nut in them so the light won't come on. The cat that sends the sensor off is in the header anyway. Short answer, your'e fine on both accounts.

Wow, send in the hounds.

PK,

Come on, man. Don't be so hard on the guy. (instead use your buddhist nature to focus your energy on receiving your header) That's what these forums are for. On a side note, I've always hated that about forums, that your "status" is regulated by how many times you've posted. You could have a race car mechanic come in once a month and be a newbie and some 14 year old that has nothing but time on his hands and posts to everything be an "evolved member". It's all f'd up, man. Anyway, done ranting now and going back to work.

removing your Cat and replacing it with a test pipe will void your warrenty (jus' remember to put your old cat on when you go to have work done). I have one and my CEL has never come on.

they may be talking about the 1st cat that is in the header, removing that will throw a CEL, and they will give you **** about that.

of course theyll void the warranty. theyre illegal. or as most places like to say 'for off road use only'. thats why everyone is saying to put your cat. back on when you go get an inspection or back to the dealerships.
