EVO FTW! STI...huge chance of it blowing it up on the track!

 

What's the weight differential? What's the difference in gearing (I know that MS3 isn't on its stock gearbox if it has 350hp...or it won't be for long, lol)? What do the torque curves look like on each car? It's hard to speculate, but the MS3 would have a decent shot, especially if we're considering the "perfect world" evenly-matched engine scenario, given its weight advantage (both rotational and total). AWD isn't light!

If he wants Mazda why not a speed6. I've never driven one but they are awd and turbo so if he seems like he wants a mazda that will cover his needs.

 

Unless you WANT an evo, dont buy an evo. Most of us do nothing but think about the next thing we want to do to our cars... If you shiver thinking about doing maintenance, get a toyota.

For you, buy the Evo, for your friend, get the Mazda. My roomate bought a brand new Mazda3 with basic amenities for like $21k with 0% APR. I wouldnt buy it... but if I wasnt a car guy I would.

 

Hmm i have a feeling this is gonna be a landslide victory for the evo....

 

MS3 isn't even in the same class, I put it down within the likes of the Civic Si and SRT-4. Fun to drive no doubt though so don't get me wrong there.
