better first mod?

hey whats up guys ....well my friend just bought a evo and im probably getting one in a couple of months so i was thinkign adn what is the first mod or the best mod to start with on the safe side ...i mean im not a noob but with turbo cars ive heard that you have to be careful of certain things like to much air intake can cause a need for more fuel so bascially whats the best first mod?...i know i could have searched but my question is not like others ive searched

i dont need driving school i mean ive been driving for manual for 2 years plus ive driven the evo numerous times ...its not a noob question but im not familiar with what brings a turbo car the best results as a first mod be it a BOV or catback exhaust for example...of course the catback brings more hp but whats better to get first ... maybe a ecu upgrade?

I would do the exhaust and ecu upgrade at the same time. But a cat back is an excelent start, just make sure you get 3in piping. So when later you decide to go futher u can go with a high flow cat and downpipe for some serious gains. But some sort of an ecu would be recommended.

i was thinking of going with a k&n filter for a quick change of airflow ..nothing special just the good ol cone filter slapped on the car. i have a friend that did that and it made the car sound great espically top end. and a bov then ecu or def. turbo timer ....cause i dont want to change exhaust first i think....thanks for the help i appreciate it

BOV does nothing for performance on a stock evo besides sound cool, i would go for exhaust + boost controller.

yes exhaust is your best bet or maybe even a new clutch from what i hear the cluch on the car is horable and if you take it out right away then you can actually sell it

well i dunno how to explain it but im not the type of person that wants the loud and attention grabbing car ...(i know evo's are attention grabbing lol) i mean as far as exhaust ...i rather have a turbo timer, boost controller, ecu upgrade, intake, and things like that over a exhaust. also the clutch upgrade isnt wise as i wont be lauching it like wild becuase i plan on takign care off the evo somethign my si hasnt had lol
