Is it possible???

Ok. First off, I DO understand that I have a descently fast car from the dealership. My question is, is it possible to do high performance mods without making the car obnoxiously loud and noticable. I dont know if this question has ever been asked or even brought up, so I had to ask.

Yes it is. Search and read up on all the "quiet" versions of exhausts, keep the intake stock with a k/n. Done.

That was my goal as well but once I starting modding the evo I did not care about the noise, well some times I do. I have a rmr stealth exhaust which has a deep tone so its not that loud, turbo xs downpipe and megan test pipe (3 mods that are usually loud). My car does get loud after 4k rpm when I push it which is due to the test pipe, other wise its normal. So answer your question, yes it is possible but all depends on how far you want to go with the mods. I have only done BPU stuff to it cuz I never race and I am happy with it.

Have you seen the challenge episode of Top gear.... Making a car as fast as evo. They spend 10000 pounds on modification and the track time kept going the other way lol. They reduced time by taking out all seats and taking out the roof but,, jeremy says.... If you're modding cars to go faster on the track than stock yourself, you're wasting money. Well said, it was a hilarious episode.

I'd drop in a filter for fun along the way, but i won't mod almost anything else. I like the stock sound and performance very much, go mitsu!

As of now I have an HKS cat-back exhaust, perrin intake, ACT clutch/flywheel, and LICP. IMO my car has the perfect low growl that I want, but in the next couple of weeks I will be going FP Red and AMS intercooler. I doubt these few upgrades (accompanied with a tune) would change the sound too drastically

Its just something about pulling up to the staging lanes all quiet, barely noticable, and unexpectingly tearing your opponet apart

do you remember what car they were using? apples to oranges, or trying to make an apple taste like an orange.

downpipe, test pipe, stock catback, drop in filter, stock bov, o2 housing, manual boost controller and finally a tune.

Those mods will put you around 340-350whp and no one will have a clue that your car has even been touched.

What 4WS said! You can also run E85 or meth without it being visible. There are only so many mods that you can do before you max out the stock turbo (and additional mods won't do anything for you), anyway, so just pick ones that suit you.

Sure it is! That's actually we did with our SE. The mods are minimal, the car can trap a hair over 117, its drivability is better than stock, and with its quiet TBE barely anyone notices the GG Evo until it's on top of them. The engine bay looks stock aside from a MBC.

You have the option to not upgrade your exhaust.

You can add a few mods, Intercooler, lower pipe, downpipe, test pipe/high flow cat, boost controller, 255 fuel pump, injectors, intake and still have a pretty fast car after it's tuned.
