Tranny problem.

I got a problem. I was at mickey d's( as the driver) and my wife was trying to shift gears w/o me stepping on clutch. My 4th gear was grinding like crazy maybe bc of my sync. when i was trying to go to first gear. i stepped on the clutch all the way, but i couldnt shift anywhere. it seems to be stuck on 4th gear. cant reverse or any other gears. any clue of what this could be?

Possibly the shift fork is bent and or the shifter linkage is loose.
Always try fresh Redline MT90 fluid though first and see if that
makes a difference at all in the tranny operation.

Changing the trans fluid wont help if it seems like its stuck in gear. i would put the car in the air, have someone push the clutch pedal and look to see if the master cylinder rod is actually pushing the fork. If it is pushing the fork and you still cant shift your gear than something internally in your trans is PHUCKED!

Also Check the shift linkage. Look at the cables on the tranny. Try and move it by hand. Also check the fork. Can you move the gearing when the car is off?

When the car is off, it is still stuck in fourth gear.
