I just wanted to preface this a bit and tell you my story.
In 2008 I purchased a brand new civic DX as my daily driver. After driving that for a year I decided I wanted to get more power, so naturally I purchased a 2009 Civic SI. After running a stock SI for a couple months I purchased an intake, header, exhaust and Cobb AP. Which certainly made my car perform much better, but it was still severely lacking torque (yes I know it's a honda)
and grip in 1st gear (front wheel drive)
Now after 6,000KM's on my SI I am strongly considering purchasing a new Evo X GSR.
I only drive about 10KM's a day to work, and I have a fairly decent disposable income. I just want a car with amazing acceleration.
I've been looking at the Subaru WRX, 370Z and Evo. Mitsubishi Canada offers a 60/84 program which keeps the payments low for a longer period of time (which I really like)
I know you guys already have the Evo, but I'm just curious what you would do if you were in my shoes? Purchase the Evo again?
Also note I realize there will be negative equity on my car when I trade it in, however you don't pay the taxes on the trade in so I would save almost all of that money.
I noticed this at my local Mitsubishi Dealership. I'm currently paying $469 a month and I can either ante-up and pay a little more per month and get a faster car, or continue going crazy with mods on my SI (big hole for something that's not going to be faster than a Evo/WRX with AWD)
This is $660 a month for the MR not the GSR.

OR
I could just purchase a bike in the summer time... LOL (If only I had a place to park it)

Edit: I forgot to mention I like modding and I wish the GSR had a freaking moonroof! /EndRant

I would either:
A. Get a nice turbo kit for the Si. There is a new Si around here that is making very good power off a Greddy turbo kit(I think). I think he is up to a little over 300whp.... But it is still a FWD Honda. So
B. Upgrade and get the Evo X. It's handling is 1000 times better than the Si and with just a tune and a cat-back you will be making a ton of power. If you like to mod, this is the way I would go. Can never go wrong with an Evo.

If you don't even have a room to store a bike, then you wouldn't be able to store that SI in the winter. Because once you start upgrading, FWD+added torque isn't going anywhere when you're trying to lightly launch on snow. You can upgrade the SI and get snow tires if you want but you would have to get rally-type snow tires and they aren't cheap.
If you truly want, go for the X. Fast from factory and AWD system with YAW is just awesome. It would do very well on track, auto-x and rally-x. Personally, I would try to find a IX to have it cheaper so you can spend more money on mods but that's just me.

Absolutely true... As I live in Canada the winters can be really harsh, so the AWD would definitely be a MAJOR plus. Although used is completely out of the question due to terrible financing and I've had a lot of bad experiences with used cars... Originally Posted by Piro Fyre

And I don't have enough room to store any car, my fast car has to be used year round, snow rain or shine

i came from a subaru, and you really can't go wrong with either. although the newer sti's have some motor problems. but its based on personal taste.

Just gotta head over to Mitsubishi Dealership and see what I can get for my trade in and see what the Evo will be per month.
