Picking up the new evo soon!!!

So its been like a month or two now since i found this evo, between nagotating and loans and all the b.s. we finally settled at $22,000.

this cars beautiful. Evo 9 graphite gray, 17,600 miles BONE STOCK. owned by an adult, like 35ish..

I should be picking it up reall soon within like a week. i will be sure to post pics of it..

Anyway, when i get it i wanna do like a flush of everything. i was gunna change the oil, tranny flush, should i bother flushing the transfer case as well? also should i do a radiator flush too? or is that un nessasary

my question is what kinda oil do you use? im in New york so we get mixed climate.. what viscosity should i go with? and what are some good brand? my brother uses royal purple in his STi. and he loves it. says its better than any oil he's used.. but im deffinatly gunna go synthetic

as for tranny fluid i' already have a cocktail recipe

Transmission: Redline MT-90 (2 quarts) & MTL (1 quart)
Transfer case/rear differential: Mitsubishi DiaQueen 90W LSD

There probably is no need to worry about the coolant yet, but if you do it anyway (which of course can't hurt) a 50/50 mix of the regular green stuff is what you need.

change...

oil - 4.5-4.7 qts - amsoil 10w-30 (my recommendation)
tranny - mr specific diaqueen - you can use it in the five speed as well as the mr tranny (my recommendation)
tc/rear diff - diaqueen lsd gear oil (my recommendation)

radiator couldn't hurt but is not needed at this point

I would change the fluids. Probably got factory fill in it.

Congrats on the purchase, sounds like a heck of a deal.

4.5 qts? I read somewhere it just takes 3.9 qts and I use 4 qt bottles to put it up to the top dot on the stick.
As for what oil I use, I use Castrol Syntec 10W-30 with an OEM filter. Been using it for a while and it's OK. I might switch back to Amsoil soon or go Mobil 1. I have Amsoil in my tranny, diff and tc and they seem to be doing their jobs. No complaints with Amsoil.

I wouldn't change the tranny/etc. oils just yet though. The stock Diaqueen still has a ways to go before needing a change.

That's one quart too many. The transmission only takes ~ 3 quarts.

^That is what I figured. I have put that mix in Subies before. I would never do that to my car. They were paying me to do it so its whatever. Just not me.
