Buying an Evo
Do this keep the car u have start saving. go to college keep saving. Get a good job than spend the money u saved on the car u want. Right now i would say u can't afford one. Pricey to insure, maintain, gas, mods, it all ads up. Than u might have a ok car but can't afford to go out in it. Or hang with friends. Its just a car.
i'm 18 and my insurance isn't that high. I pay 446 every 6 months. payments are 350. only thing that hurts are gas and maintainence. But my dad has his own shop so i save alot by not havng someone else do car work.
Get it, you only live once.

I would say get a evo 9. I am 21 now but bought the car when I was twenty. I saved for awhile though and put down a $10,000 down payment when i purchased it. I bought mine with 5400 miles on it though for $24,000. That puts my payments around $300 and my insurance is not that bad either. Its around 16o ish give or take. I pay 6 months in full instead of monthly so im not positive on the exact amount. I believe you can afford a 8 or 9 if you put the right amount down and have a steady job. Thats just my .02
If your on your parents insurance policy, the highest rate driver surcharges are applied to the highest rate vehicle, so unless your excluded from that car, your most likely going to be paying for it whether or not your listed as the primary driver. I supose your parents could have more expensive cars to insure and your not excluded from driving them, it may look like on paper your Evo insurance is that high.
The only way you can get around this is if you have your own insurance policy (ie an older beater) so you don't have to be listed on your parents insurance policy. You would be able to be insurance drive the Evo. When I was you I had a Corvette (parents insurance) and winter beater (my insurance) so I speak form experience. In my case it was slightly cheaper to have 2 cars insurance wise than 1 Corvette in my name. I was really wasn't going to DD a Corvette in the snow either, so it made a lot of sense.
