New to the fourm.

Hey whats up guys, as the tittle says I am new to the evolutionm fourm. I don't have an evo yet, but I will very soon have one. Im going for an 06 evo mr, but already started reading and says there tranys aren't as good as the gsr or rs? Well im in to learn/ read some more before I decide to purchase this evo.

Welcome. I have an MR and I am pretty sure that unless your doing 400WHP+ the tranny will be fine.

Hi, and thanks! Once I do purchase the evo my goal will to get it atleast to 500whp or if my budget is ok I would love to have it at the mid 650's.

Then you will want to go to a 5 speed. I have a MR w/ a 6speed and dont have any problems. From what I have read if you go over 400 ft lb of torque it will cause it to fail.

All I can say is if u wanna spend the extra couple of grand for a transmission, if your planning on that power u might wanna get a 5 speed

Guys, as relatively new 6-speed owners, you may want to search for the big 6-speed thread and find out when and why the transmissions are prone to fail. It's not what you seem to think.
