Kind of a weird question...

Im in an argument with my friend and he seems to think a evo ix cant trap 120 or make over 400 whp. He owns a slowbalt ss, so go figure. I was just wondering what powerlevel and highest traps have a stock turbo evo ix made.

Of course an evo can trap over 120 and make over 400 whp. Most people on these forums do that regularly. Now, a stock one can't do that, of course it requires some modification. Stock IXs came with like ~290awhp and with a retune and maybe an intake and exhaust of that you can get it into the low 300s.

What you need to tell your friend is that unless he has sunk a serious bank account into his cobalt, he better enjoy eating some dust...

Looks like it's possible...

Just have him go and check out the stock turbo quickest/fastest list that should help.

This section is geared more towards results from dyno tuning etc.

That should be enough to send your friend running back to his domestic ricer.

Don't stock 9's have way less then 290awhp? maybe to the crank but not to the ground...don't they lose around 40-50hps?

I could have swore a evo 8 was 271 at the crank and evo 9 where rated 276 at the crank.
