Next modification!?

I would like your opinions on what my next modifications should be. I want to put on a couple more parts and then get tuned. Looking to spend several hundred dollars. My current mods are in my signature, basic bolt ons.

I plan on getting a tune in January, looking to make 330awhp. Also, how much boost will I need to run to make that power? My plans with the car are to keep the stock VIII turbo, unless I hit the lottery LOL.

I know I need a Walbro 255, but what else? FMIC? injectors?

I have ideas, but wanted to see what others thought, perhaps if you were in this situation, what route did you go?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Injectors and FMIC aren't a bad idea...especially injectors they're kinda like an insurance thing..you dont want something to fail when you start pushing the car a bit.

Of course te 255, injectors are a good idea, and fmic is a good idea.. but cams would really make a difference

yea i am interested in the kelford 272 for the stock 8 turbo, but would rather hold off on them because i like the stock idle. don't get me wrong, i love the loopy idle with cams, but i just would not like them for a daily driver.

with the cam install i would do valves and retainers too.

what size injectors, 760cc?

dont waste your money on injectors... go with a good set of kelford 264/272 and get an fmic.

If you plan on upgrading your turbo to a gt series or similar, go with a more aggressive cam duration like a 272/272 and springs and retainers

about the idle of cams i wouldn worry bout that to much,i have 272s and mine idles great and can hardly tell cams in it,just a little lopey. it depends on your tuner, they can make them real lopey or a little or no lope at all. cbrd tunes my car and is perfect sound, idle and performance

or should they just be bought new?

You would benefit highly from a 3.5 inch ETS intercooler and DEF a set of kelford 272's, widest powerband on the market and if you have a good tuner you will not even notice a change in idle. My 600hp stock block evo idles exactly like a stock one. PM me if you need any help deciding before you spend a pot full of money

Some used parts aren't a bad idea at times, depends on the amount of wear/use.

You do get what you pay for though sometimes so try not too cheap out too much either

Kelfords 272s. Kelfords are the best. You should check out the AMS cam shootout. With Brian Crower Springs and Retainers. <-- durable and cheap. For the 8 you will feel a big difference. i would deff get fuel pump and a 3.5 Front Mount. As for the Injectors you probably wont need them right now. but when you do just grab the 1000cc.

For used parts i would just get the front mount , and IMO not used cams you dont know if they were abused or not.

Justin is right. It all depends on your tuner.
