2003 Eclipse GTR? Is that like a ... the Eclipse GTS, the V6 with modified intake setup?

And when you say, Evo Eclipse, are you talking about the 1G and 2G Eclipse GSX?

Very interesting. It's a shame the Eclipses only got heavier but it sounds like a very interesting project. Good luck. RoadRace personnel frequently visit the board under the name ROCK if that's of any interest to you. Look forward to hearing about the project. Oh yeah, durh, welcome.

Well the Evo 7 is actually the same weight as the GT eclipse MT... so i shouldn't lose performance from stock EVO 7 specs... besides... i'm getting the more powerful Jspec engine, woo hoo

thanks for the Info, i'm in close contact with RRE on the Eclipse forums, btw i Live in Fremont, SF Bay area, CA... so maybe we'll meet sometime

Ah Fremont. Good isht, shade far but worht it to see this machine when it's complete. Heck...we might be able to start a Nor-Cal crew with the others on this board once I get my car put back together (don't ask , damn stupid drivers ).

Lightbulb ??? eclipse VR4 ???

Now I realize that I cant speak for everyone but I know from a first hand perspective that it is a pain not to have the 3000gt VR4 still in production and availbile here in the states. I also realize that the block on the V6 3g eclipse is the same as the 3000gt VR4. Question is, does anyone think that it would be posible to add the 3kmotor to the 3g eclipse and maybe the AWD/AWS aspect of it too?
I am soon going to be getting a bonus for completing my training and am thinking about what to get as I have curently sold my 94 3kgt VR4.

Any idea's

peace to the streets,

Raider.. the twin cam will not fit under the hood of a 3g. the heads are simply too large. The stock 3 ltr engine in the 3g can take a lot of boost if you can find a way to hook up the needed intercooler. Rippmods in Staten Island has been working with it for over a year and a half now and has the engine puting out around 300 hp (what the evo does with a chip job). This is a cheaper way to go than using the 3000GT mill but without AWD or at least a good limited slip front diff. all you do with the 3g is burn rubber. I loved the looks of my "00" 3g GT 5sp and the easy way it drove around town but the performance put me to sleep (such a pretty face but no real cornering, acceleration. or brakes).

Owned... I hope your project works out like you are planning... it will sure be one heck of a cool sleeper. Too bad Mitsu doesn't have your vision. I would gladly pay another 10 thou for Evo perfomance in a 3g.
