Thinking of selling
I know you don't like fwd but with a low 20's budget I know I'd look at a used Cooper S.

Well we were all wrong. I used to bus ton them too, till the market started going up and the companies like ETS proved those motors. 700+ on stock blocks, thats INSANE. Supra status, in a 4cyl, ALMOST.
Anyways, Why not fi the kinks a bit and sell it or trade it for a well kept evo, even if its older. Someone else will appreicate the newness and fun-ness to rebuild a newer evo, as opposed to you who will enjoy the reliability and fun factor of a well kept near stock one.

Average Joes aren't mechanics but I agree with the sentiment (if you have the money). Buying another car and inheriting another set of unknown problems isn't a great solution. If you rebuild the car with quality parts then you know it'll last as long as you own it...and you could even beat on it a bit and not worry about it.
I'm looking through the suggestion...and i'm pretty sure he said no FWD. lol
And I love my evo, but I'm a Nissan fan all the way. 350Z yo!
Or spend a little more and stfu about that 2000+ thing and get an NSX.

after reading your post I'm almost guaranteed that my EVO is also a lemon
no wonder i spent almost 20k by this weekend.
**** what should I do?
I traded my Z for the EVO, good car never modded, dont know how they hold up modded. by the way what did you do with $400k?

S2000. I have one, and it is quite resonable, as has very high potential. You can get an older one for ~$12-15k in decent condition. Mods are about the same price as your Evo's, but there is a HUGE selection of stuff. And you don't even have to mod to have fun in it. And best of all, it's so easy to work on!--everything is laid out cleanly, and there's enough space in the engine bay. It's a different kind of car though that rewards a different kind of driver. I think it is arguably the harder car to drive well, but when you do, it feels great.
