Subaru to Mitsu

At least that's the plan. Will be paying my '03 WRX off in the next year or so and when I do I am intending on finding an '06 IX GSR SE. My Suby is my DD and so would the EVO.

I've had my Bugeye since '05 and done alot of tracking/modding since then, though not lately. I find that, as is usual in our hobby, I don't have the time or money to do what I want with her so I'm going to upgrade to something that's all around better out of the box. My track days are over until I retire and buy a Z06. I may concede and get a CBE and some tires, but that's it. I'm young enough to still love the adrenaline rush as the turbo spools (12mph in a puddle? Anyone?), but old enough to realize that there ARE more important things.... and I don't need a 10sec DD. I will always love Subarus, but the car that best fits my needs and wants right now is actually an EVO.

I've read some of the stickies and will try not to ask stupid questions (I cut my internet teeth with NASIOC among others). I am a n00b. I would be a raging hypocrite to ask for lenience because of that.

Take care,
Tom

Welcome!

Believe it or not you'll learn so much just by searching around the forums for answers about pretty much anything!

We all say that at first. Then we realize how mod-friendly the Evo is.

Well in advance - welcome to the winning team

Ouch. 08? Haven't you learned that every time Subaru changes body styles (every two years until this year) the first year sucks or is inferior? The 08 STi EMBODIES that trend. Oh well. Epic fail or Win On Sunday I will always love Subaru.

Subaru is still VERY mod friendly...I'm not new to the mod-bug. I'm not leaving the Subaru fold because they suck, I'm leaving the Subaru fold because Mitsubishi seems to fit my needs and wants more accurately at this point. I've always wanted either an '05 or '07 STi, but in either case my lightly modded '03 WRX can hang with them pretty well, so I ask myself, "What is a car that is very similar to the STi in design/purpose/functionality, but is quicker and handles better?" The answer is obvious.
