Someone who knows about Evo's and what to look for on them.
I went with the dealership and had mine checked out. Have them do a good inspection, trust me, $100-500 upfront to find out something major is wrong is a lot better than buying something that will explode and cost thousands to repair.
(Happened to a buddy of mine, bought a Civic SI used for $7500 and had an engine go and had to get another loan for $4500. Don't make that mistake. Get it inspected!)

Yeah the local dealer should be able to do it with no problem! That's where I had mine done but I just had a basic used car inspection/oil change-inspection/12 point done. I think it cost me $75 to 100. But I opted for that because the guy I bought it from had all the logs and paperwork and always had it serviced at that dealership!
But if you don't have the logs and such, you might want to have a more thorough inspection done. It'll take longer and cost more but may save you in the long run!

no one can tell you what to get into...it all depends on your tastes, needs, and price range. you can get cheap 8's now with mid-higher mileage unless you're lookin for a 9 with low miles which will cost you a pretty penny. keep reading and looking into things and you'll notice yourself liking certain things and not liking others...good luck with everything tho!
