Modified Vs Stock

For someone contemplating their first Evo ( a VII BTW) is it better to buy one that's highly modified, or stock. The potential buyer has liitle time to do his own modding and the price is close to a stocker. Thanks

I would say its better to but it as close to stock as possible, this way you can modd it how you want. Some guys cut corners and modd the wrong way and run into big issues. If you do the modding you can see that it is done right and not cause you a headache later. Plus you dont know how much the previous owner beat on the car. He didnt modd it so it can sit in a garage.

True 187, it's just that the mods were done by a very qualified shop here and the price is very attractive. Plus I'm having a very difficult time finding a stock one that hasn't been crashed, abused etc.

^^ if you know where the work was done that is a plus, i would say go for it then. Most of us here in the US dont get that type of information from the previous owners.

Well we're pretty small here so that's how you can tell if the car you're interested has a bad history.

yeah i would say if u kno the previous owner and where the work was done do a lil research see if they will let u test drive it look under the hood and the such. if the shop and previous owner are straightforward with u and honest i dont see what the big deal is.
