Front Undertray needed?
Front Undertray needed?
Hey guys. I've looked around and still can't resolve a question I have. I was working on my Evo a few months ago and my neat freak Dad tossed my undertray in the garbage
. I've been running a few months with out it and im about to drive down to florida in two weeks. Is an undertray a good thing to have for safety/protection reasons?
Thanks!

ive been driving with mine off ever since i got it. im pretty sure you're fine the oil pan is pretty high up. the only thing i wish i had put it on for was plowing through mud..
goodluck!
goodluck!
IT keeps the underside of the engine bay clean.
I have had my underside ripped out along with the front bumper lower lip while trying to drive my car in a reeeeeeealy bad mud pit.
SInce then, I have been without the undertray, and driven my car over sand, dirt, gravel, stone, mud, highway, grass, foot-deep water,
and the car gave me no fits.
105K miles, and still going.
Its not a necissary thing, but it does keep things cleaner.
I've got red mud that's probably going to be permanently attached to the upper side of my firewall from it, but no problems.
Just make sure your wheel wells are attached so they don't flap under wind and rub against tires.
*I took my wheel wells out too*
