To AMS or not to AMS

I was looking at saving up for some upgrades on my car. I am fairly new to the modding genre.

My first mod i'm getting this friday is the Perrin air intake system.

So this is what I want.
http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...mance.com.html

I know i'm going to need a new intercooler.

Now, I know i'm going to need new sparks, maybe new coils too. Fuel injectors, Fuel pump, bov. Other things i'm not sure of. Please add if i'm missing something which I know I am.

I really want to add up everything that I need to get to get a rough estimate, then add in labor after calling a few shops.

Only serious replies please. Thanks

Please call us, we can give you estimates.

AMS has great stuff, and you can buy from a dealer or buy direct.

lol its your standard big turbo kit you should add a fully built longblock to really utilized it lol. just your standard stuff 3" TBE, Br double pumper, 1000 or higher injectors, intercooler 3.5", Aps twin vent bov or trial, intercooler pipes(upper/lower), Aem 35psi boost guage, aem or innovate wideband, exedy twin clutch aggressive tune. There Might need mini radiator pending fitment

do some research on the site (Evom) my man. if your new to modding, jumping into a 850r kit is pretty serious business and isnt a simple bolt on and go, there are A LOT of other vital parts that tag along when upgrading to a big turbo like. GL

Running gasoline (i.e. not e85) you're not gonna need that double pumper for that turbo kit. Nor will you need a mini radiator.... or an aggressive tune....

To the OP. If you are going to get the AMS turbo kit, don't buy an intake now. The kit comes with one.

Buy a fuel pump, 880cc injectors, Test pipe and cat-back, a IX bov or an aftermarket one. Although you don't need it an intercooler is highly recommended, as are the boost gauge and wideband. If you are running pump gas and do not launch the car, the stock clutch will be fine. If not there are plenty of options for a clutch, the only recommendation I have is do not buy an exedy twin.

880cc injecters? thats it? Thought with that turbo I would need at least 1000.
No new intercooler? and an IX Bov? can it hold that much pressure?

This turbo is rated 700-800hp.
I dont think my intercooler can cool it down.

This is, just from what I know.
Intake is optional with the kit. I would prefer the perrin intake over the K&N one.

You're right. I didn't notice it was for the 850r. First of all I would set some goals and talk to your preferred shop about acquiring what you need.

IX bov won't do for that much power, neither will the cooler. I was thinking you were looking for ~500hp.

You basically need a $30,000 build if you want 700-800hp. Then another 15-20k in the bank for WHEN it breaks, not IF it breaks.

Since it sounds like you have no experience in the modding game... well, I guess the first thing I'll say is that you probably won't heed any of my advice given to you, but don't go out and try to build a 700hp Evo unless you have a money tree in your backyard. Go simpler. Way way way simpler. You are trying to start a race and jump to the final lap on your first stride.

GOALS GOALS GOALS. Figure out what you want the car to do and how important reliability and other factors are. Then talk to a bunch of shops. Then make a decision. 99% of the people you will get responding to you will lead in a bad direction.
