Love for my EVO!

First off let me say hello to everyone as this is my first time posting in here. This past Dec. I treated myself to a birthday present and bought a 08 gg EVO with about 7000 miles on it. I had been looking for the right one for a long time and finally found it.

When test driving this car I really liked this car..ALOT! Ended up buying the vehicle and have been having a great tinme driving it.

Here is my story on how I went from liking to loving my ride:

First I am new to import turbos. I used to own a 87 Buick Grand National about ten years ago but when my daughtwer was born i needed something a little less vicious. So after years of driving Nissan, Infiniti, I got my X.

So two days after I bought my car I was over a friends house playing poker on a Friday night. It got to be pretty late and it had just started snowing out so me and one of my friends decided to leave. I was following my friend on Interstate 95 because he had been drinking earlier and we were only cruising at about 35 miles per hour due to the snowy conditions. I checked my rearview mirror and noticed this old white piece of **** Cutlass barreling up behind us in the left lane. Now let me say that there was only about 15 feet between my friends bumper and the front of my car. So, this a-hole in the white hunker barrels up right next to me and completely looses control of his car, sliding it sideways, then he must have gotten some grip and shoots right in-between my friend and I. Complete fear strikes me and I pitch my car sidways so my passanger door is facing the wrecked white cutlass, then I pitch the car the other way and basiclly drift into the left lane just missing the ******* driver and copletely avoid what surely would have been a wreck if I were in one of my old cars.

Lets just say my heart was in my throat as it took a few minutes to realize that I almost completely wrecked my new car. But then I thought how amazing this vehicle reponded to my actions behind the wheel and that the car did exactly what it should have done, even in snowy conditions! I was impressed!

My boy in front of me is freaking out thinking that I crashed my car and left the scene of an accident until we get off the highway, and he notices that there is not a scratch on my ride.

After that I went from really liking to absolute loving my car.

Sounds scary, glad you got out ok. The Evo is easily one of the best cars to be driving when the sh*t hits the fan

Glad to hear everything is okay. A lot of us have had similar experiences. For me, it was a rainy day, and I was just driving straight, and sure enough some idiot in a Nissan Altima going in the opposite direction just makes a left in front of me (from an unprotected left turn lane), and it was almost like my car did exactly what I wanted it to do at the last second. Not only did my car dart around the guy, but despite the drastic change in direction, my Evo swerved right, slid for a second when correcting, then regained grip, then I was still going perfectly straight. It was so fast that it seemed like it almost didn't happen. You gotta love that perfect blend of the right tires, suspension, AWD grip, LSDs, steering ratio and human response time.
