So i have been talking to a guy about purchasing and Evo it is a 2003. He say he is in Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida getting ready for Iraq and i am located in New Mexico. The Car was on AutoTrader for a little bit but, he took it off and it said the car was located in Topeka, KS. The phone number that was listed on autotrader when you look it up say it is a land line from Olmsted Falls, OH and in the pictures of the car that he sent me the tags on it are obviously from Texas. He also told me this "I can ship the car to you. The shipping isn't a problem. I can do it at no cost for you because I will use military transport for shipping. You will receive the car along with all the documents." I will post the pictures that he sent me, please give me your thoughts? Or suggestions of what to do??

sounds iffy. tell him you will just fly out and meet him and see what he says. That should clear it up

 

i think you should get all those inconsistencies on the details of the car sorted out before you proceed. i am no military guy but i have never heard of military transportation to ship? so he will ship it with tanks and airplanes? lol

 

The Fly out there is a good idea and yeah the military transport sounds a little outrageous, i know the military has its benefits, but i doubt that is one of them.
I did though try ti search his ip address and his internet provider is out of florida so idk i will tell him im going to fly out to see it and see what he says.

 

Military can transport items but its only for PSC and Dity Moves...
that seems sketchy so i would try and meet the guy somewhere

 

sounds like a good approach. if its a scam most likely he will immediately refute the idea of meeting up. Unfortunately it doesn't sound too good but let us know how he responds

Yeah i will let you guys know how it all turns out, but hopefully i could become a proud new Evo owner

It's all a little to fishy. I'd run from this deal and look for something a little closer to home.

he say he wants $5,700. because he has to sell the car as fast as he can because in three weeks he is going to be leaving to Iraq and he will be there for a long time.

That is what i thought, because there is like .01% chance that this could be real. That is why im still looking for one closer to where i live, but if he is telling the truth I got one hell of a deal (but like i said before its really not likely.)
