Sort of Newbie.

Title says it all been around just havent post much since i got rid of the Galant. I have recently purchased a White 95 Eclipse GSX only 124,000 miles all stock. Plans are to go thru the car and fix all the leaks whatever they be, i knows theres a few, pretty much a restoration job in the works, then it will be tuning time

Throw a 14b turbo, walbro 190(or evo fuel pump) and AFPR on the bad boy and give it a 15-16lbs of boost and have some fun!

All which can be picked up cheap.

If you're gonna do it, do it right man. Guaranteed that thing has ring and bearing wear. I'd just tear the whole thing down if you're going to put any power down reliably. With age, these things just start falling apart at the weakest link. Whether that be the trans, the bearings and so forth, or even a partially clogged oil gallery... Depending on your power plans, be careful how much you stress it, it'll give. But no to be a downer, it'll be fun. Nothing quite like building a monster yourself, pride is tangible when you've got it going Best of luck, holler for any advice/questions.

Yeah ive been thinking hard about that motor, but when i had the oil pan off the other day i checked for crank walk which was very little and the bearings looked to be in really good condition, and i have also replaced the valve cover gasket very little if any build up on the oil holes that i could see, dosen't smoke a bit. Next is to check compression this weekend and fix the damn rain water leak from the rear hatch drain holes. What a mess it has made in the passenger floor board. Looking for some EVO wheels for it now prefer the gunmetal color to match the bottom half of the car!
