Long time lurker...
Well I have lurked on here for about a year, I just recently made a SN, and I don't own an Evo... yet. I have about 1 1/2 years till I am going to get one but surely in time it will happen. All I am waiting for is to pay off my MK4 VW GTI and for my wife to finish her training for her new job so we can afford another car payment (plus we just bought my wife a 2008 Passat). I am pretty dead set on an Evo IX MR, but that can and probably will change. The Evo X is slowly starting to grow on me and I could order one brand new but I still don't like them as much as the previous generations.
As for my background, I grew up around Honda and Nissan, ever since I was little though I have always loved VW's. Since I turned 16 the only cars I have ever owned were VW's with the exception of an E30 and a EK CTR. I fell in love with Evo's after lurking here for the past year or so. Mainly because I decided for my next daily driver I want AWD. I hate trying to drive a FWD in the snow. Also a friend of mine gave me a ride in his evo several times and that sold me on it. Not to mention I am not a huge fan of the Subie exhaust note so that helped narrow my choices down quite a bit.
But I am very excited to get an Evo, my wife is starting to get annoyed with how much I talk about them all the time. But she will never understand my car obsession.

welcome. when your time comes, i highly recommend you look to get a car from moderate climate regions. you'll be glad you did. also, since you have to contend with upper management, you may want to get one stock or lightly modded so that you experience little to no downtime and you can decide on the mods and the rate of subsequent mods.

Yeah I was fully planning on getting a stock one. I am not a huge fan of buying pre-modded cars. Plus since this is going to be my daily I will have to plan all my modifications around having my GTI ready to drive (the GTI is going to be torn apart and rebuilt as soon as the Evo is purchased) and I need to build a very streetable and reliable setup. I want to shoot for 500ish WHP but it needs to be runable in the winter so it may be very difficult.
