IM about to buy an evo and i need help!!

Ok...im thinking about buying this evo...and i already checked it out and took it for a test drive...and its sick...but i need help..see on the ad it says its an MR..and when i was over at the dealer i asked him if it was an MR..and he said yea..

So i was wondering how is it an MR when it doesnt have any of its features..first of all its a 5-speed transmission...then it doesnt have the stock mr wheels..it has the stock 2004 enkei rims which arent bad...it also doesnt have the gauges under the stereo..and it doesnt have those thing above the rear winshield..and it doesnt have any type of mr badging

now i was wondering..is it really an MR if it has those features..and if it isnt...is dat a good price to pay??..please let me know about ur opinions thanks!!

so heres the ad..

thats a pic of how it looks...its not that good of a pic..but ill take some more when i go see it again..

yeah you can almost be 100% sure that it's an rs from the photo given because the mirrors and door handles are painted black instead of red. and if your still not sure, just look underneath the car. if the shocks are yellow, then they are the bilsteins that mr's come equipped with

I looked around for a while to find an evo and that picture was used all the time when the seller doesnt have any photos of the car...

Have the dealer run a Carfax for you that should clear things up. Or take some pics and post them here.

yeah that just looks like a stock photo. it's definitely not the real picture of the car. that picture is of an Evo VIII. it has the stock Evo VIII Enkei wheels as well as the Evo VIII front bumper.

Yea..the picture on the ad isnt the actual picture..The car is black..with an evo 9 front bumber..so im not sure if its an actual evo 9 or 8...but it does have the same rims that are show on the pic of the ad

would it say on the title if its an MR??and if its not an mr is that still good price to pay??After all the taxes and dealer fees it was gonna be around $21,000

If you want to know its an MR look for these things: Trunk Badge that says "MR", 6 spd trans, "Evolution MR" logo on the shifter console, Yellow SHocks, BBS Whels, MItsu OEM Gauges under the climate control knobs. If its a evo 9 the main thing to look for is the Valve cover should say MIVEC....IF THE SELLER SAYS its an MR then make sre you have the seller sign in some form so if it is not an MR you can sue them for lying.

well i would confront him about few things so they can bring the price lower: why the evo8 rims, why does he keep saying MR when the vin says the opposite. And you yourself need to go there on your own, take a few pics, post them here and we can help you out if its worth it. When you go there look at the radiator and make sure its not damaged on the inside meaning no bent fins, which will be a sign of someone messing with turbos. Look for oil leaks under the car, but i still think the previous owner has lied to this dealer when sold it to them so i still say go there take pics and post them here cause something is fishy.
