Hey guys i think i joined this forum about a year ago when i was looking into either getting an evo or sti. Finally this month i was ready to get a car and test drove an sti and wasn't impressed with the car. I own a k series integra type r and love handling over power and it felt really sloppy and honestly felt like my brother's 2001 2.5 rs that we swapped a wrx motor in with sti bolt on's felt more fun and tight. So i was on the internet and found a local dealer selling an 03 evo that i ended up buying. It has 140k miles but is in immaculate condition and came with tons of aftermarket mod's that i felt it was a deal. I am a mechanic so i figured if its clean and anything goes i will fix the car.

so it had tons of mods that i would of done to the car only thing i added so far was a snow performance 2 meth kit i got from a friend for a buck fifty and a braille light weight battery.

Dealer was asking 13k and i got them down to 11k.

Only 2 problems on the car is the boost it at stock levels so it is running 9 to 1 a/f at wot so tune is on the way and on the way home i lost 4th gear pops out in low rpms didn't do it on the 10 min test drive .

So i am finally glad and excited to make it to the community have loved these cars since my friend purchased one in 03 and i took it for a ride.

 

also did a fresh oil change and did the diff's and trans with the redline cocktail in the trans which helped with the 5th gear grind but 4th was too far gone and lightweight shock proof in the rear and front diff.

also i have been trying to get my post count up so i can post in other area s where im restricted made a bunch but im still at 8 posts anyone know whats the deal?

welcome to the family of evo bro and now you drive one too. am sure you going to have fun in your new car. it looks like you know what you are doing since you knew all the mods added to the car. every evo has issues but learning and taken care of the issues is what makes the car last forever. enjoy
