quick question about dynos....

which read higher then the others. dyno dynamics ... how close are they to actual whp (what variables are used to determine correction factors?)

i have a friend with an 2005 evo....
pump gas (unknown boost but dont think it was over 24....no dyno sheet)
mods-- perrin catted tbe
air filter, stock inlet.fuel pump
272 kelford
thats it
the dyno read 380whp.. not 2nd guessing the guy im just trying to see if the #s are a little false due to the dyno that was used...

--same dyno. same tuner
evo 9
catless tbe
perrin inlet/intake, fuel pump
licp
23psi,
car made 370whp

-i know the dyno
-the tuner
-the person working the dyno, just trying to understand the dynos/ thanks for the help guys

There is no real measurment of "actual" wheel horse power with a dyno. Dyno gives a horse power reading but its ment for tuning purpose. The horse power rating is a result of the tuning. Most places will use a 1.0 correction factor to try and make things as even as possible but saying one dyno is correct over another is inaccurate.

i know in aussie they use a "shootout" mode with is like a Standard of dyno settings. this way they can test different cars on different dynos, and they should be similar. But yes, different dyno's will read differently. Thats why alot of people ask for MPH trap speeds. Trap speeds dont lie
