The New Guy!

Newbie, well sort of. I joined the forum back when I was driving an 02 Galant, mostly to browse for parts and what have you, outside of TGC. But it has since been retired involuntarily so I am now the proud owner of a GG Evo IX MR with only 21,5xx miles on it!

Today was the first day having it on the road, what an excellent car! I can't even remember how long I've wanted one. Mods will be kept to a minimum for as long as possible or at least as long as I can keep the tuning bug at bay. But being as it is my DD I'll probably hold off on engine mods as long as I can. It's pretty much stock except for a boost gauge and tein dampers the previous owner threw on it. I was kind of hoping to have the bilsteins but I bought the car from CA and didn't realize until after the fact. Day1: k&n drop-in, old alpine hu and relocated stock guages.. ss lines and perhaps an ss clutch line to start out next paycheck...

Welcome...nice Evo...since u plan on doing minor mods to it do a solid front motor mount...that was the first thing I did on my car & loved it...they are pretty cheap...there was barely a ittle bit more vibration in the car but it felt great while shifting...

Thanks everyone! I absolutely love it! There are a couple small issues though... I have a cracked spark plug cover and I'm getting a rattling noise under the car. It's a bit inconsistent but sounds like a missing rubber bushing or a loose hanger along the exhaust.

06MREvo:
Any other added benefits to a new mount? I'm not so sure I want the added vibration, with my Evo being a dd and all. Any other suggestions? I'm thinking new lines/brake pads rear sway bar possibly new stbs front and rear too.
