edamicate me a bit please

I just bought my second Evo 8. The first one I kept stock but the new one has some tastefull mods.
I have owned/built several turbo cars over the years and understand more than the basics. I just have some questions specific to our cars.

The car has the Vishnu Xede fully programmable ECU.
Is this a good tuning option for these cars?
What are the goods and bad of it?
Is it beginner friendly where I can go in and takeout/add fuel and timing?

What is the boost limits of the stock turbo. I am running 20psi now.
What would be the best turbo upgrade for a street driven car. I have a Walbro 255 high flow but stock injectors.

Any help would be great
Thanks

Im not sure about the Vishnu ECU. The stock one is capable up to 700whp.

Upgrades depend on your goals. I have seen 8 turbos running up to 28 PSI, but you should look at replacing with a IX turbo and a 10.5 hotside for a ~380-400whp car (on E85 and other supporting mods), or an FP Red turbo with 10.5 hotside for a ~450-550whp street car (again dependent on other mods).

Maybe you can list out your current mods?

Actually they've been over 900whp on the stock ECU. I would ditch the Vishnu, I havent seen anyone use one of those for years...20psi is fairly low, it could take 24+ easy.

Look into the FP stock replacement turbos, the Red, Black, etc.

first things first get a new flash. from what i understand the Vishnu flash is pretty generic. I wouldn't try to tune it yourself if your a beginner, email tamer@4wslide.com he'll hook you up.

as far as a daily driven car, i have an FP Red on a DD and it's fun i'm running 850cc injectors and kelford 272 cams it's fun as all get out!

as far as stock turbo limits you need to search

xede is a thing of the past...there is no support from vishnu anymore and the stock ecu has become leaps and bounds more capable in the last two years

ok guys thanks for the help.
The previous owner had the car tuned by Shiv? himself, the owner of Vishnu so it is not a generic mail order tune.

As far as the stock ECU being more capable. Is this using another method to flash the computer. Or are you suggesting removing the Xede and running the computer in stock form?

Here are a list of the mods.
Buscher 3" turbo-back exhaust
High-flow cat
HKS 264 intake and exhaust cams
Vishnu red Adjustable cam gears
Forge Recirculating Blowoff valve
Walbro high flow 255 lph fuel pump

It uses the stock computer without a piggyback. A tactrix cable is used to flash the stock system to new parameters using the software called Ecuflash.

I personally wouldn't remove your xede until you are able to have the car tuned as it already has mods perhaps more than is listed just here. Removing the xede could make the drivability suffer until its tuned for the mods with the stock ecu.
