Evo or Wrx
obviously u joined evom because u really wanted an evo. Just be patient and you will find a great deal on an evo for the price range you want. dont settle for nothing but what u really want. When i was looking for my evo recently I only wanted an evo 9 and after weeks of not being able to find any for over 500 miles I was about to settle for an 8 when one that only had a bov and catback was in my town with 28k miles came along. Just be patient and you will find what u want bro.
You should look in Craigslist Los Angeles for your next Evo. We probably have more Evo's in Southern California than anywhere else in the US and it is much easier to find a descent car for a lower price. These cars routinely start at about $13k and up in L.A. I know you might have to spend a few hundred dollars on a plane ticket or for shipping but it will be well worth it. You will get a car that you know hasn't seen any harsh winters and road salt. As of today there are four cars listed for under $16k and new ones come up every day.
Be patient in your search for an Evo and the right one will come along. I waited 3 months and when the right one for me came around, I knew it. Many others have waited much longer and they are completely happy and say the wait paid off.
In the mean time stay involved in the forums and search, search, and search some more, and read thread after thread and you will educate yourself better than having to ask people what they think. At that point you will make the best decision for yourself. Best of luck.

ive considered the exact same thing, but after everything ive found out about the wrx, ive decided that the wrx's arent worth the money. im waiting for that evo, id say you should to. people on the subie forums are always complaining about the cheap thin metal, the paint quality, the clutch feel, the random rattle the car makes, the frameless windows, floormats, and lastly is that the tranny is weaksauce; but the sti on the otherhand seems flawless just like how i see the evos
GL on finding your evo, i have a tight budget too, ive only got 13k to spend but if theres alot in the LA section then ive obviously been looking in the wrong area.....
