Question Need advice on Upgrades to Evo 9 MR..

So Ive had my car for a while now, kept it bone stock this whole time but now I feel like Its time to give this baby some upgrades..

In the long run I want something that sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPSXEteQ7H8

So right now Im planning to get a exhaust first then a BoV. But the question is, which exhaust is gonna make a similar sound to the video above without the tilted look.

My budget is around 300-600ish. or...... I was just gonna forget the whole upgrades and just save up and get a bike (cbr600,r6) lol

what about this exhaust? what do you guys think/suggest? http://www.stikiller.com/product.php...0&cat=0&page=1

what exhaust is this? can anyone tell?

Im running a AMS tbe, sounds pretty deep and mean. As far as bov, dont waste your money especially since your still running stock turbo. hell I know guy on Fp turbos still running stock bov cause its a pretty good bov. you dont need the "whoosh" sound to have a bad *** evo. Look into air intake, tbe, and cams!

Also look into the modding evo bible:

This.

That BOV would do you more good up your **** than in your stock Evo IX.

Spend that money on a reflash and a 3" TBE with cat delete. That will net you the biggest gains in the straights.

Seat time will teach you to learn your car and overall a better/safer driver. It also makes you faster in the curves, which is the other half of the equation.

Your choice.

Well when I did a aftermarket intake(samco silcone) with a cone filter. You can definatly hear the BOV alot louder and more easily.

It's been quite a while since we've had a BOV thread. I, for one, welcome the discussion.

BOV's on a IX are as useful as silicone in a stripper joint. Might make you excited for a while, but the real stuff is already there and gets the job done perfectly.

A very quiet and deep sounding exhaust would be anything 3" from the Turbo-back, with a good resonator or two before the muffler to keep the party in the pipe and not boom too much on the highway. You can always get a cheap, loud exhaust and just get some resonators welded in afterwards to quiet it down, but its always good to do it once, and do it right. The Buschur Dual Magnaflow with resonator sounds classy and growls just enough to make it be heard, and doesn't drone much ( big IMO).

Loved my BR TBE back when we had the '03 Evo. Had the Magnaflow and high flow cat. They are different now though, I think.

I wish a good quality exhaust wasn't $1000. I like to stick with good name brand stuff, but the BR and AMS are both around $1k. Need an exhaust for my IX MR now. In the long run I'm looking at an HTA green and cams (not sure which yet, likely Kelford?).

Not sure if you understand, a cat delete means you dont have a catalytic converter (cat) instead you have a striaght pipe of "test pipe." A turbo back exhaust (TBE) is from your turbo back it includes down pipe and hi flow cat or test pipe. A catback exhaust doesnt include down pipe its just from your stock cat on back. hope I explained it well!
