Is there such a thing as an EVO MR SE??
More and more I see cars with a SE badge being listed and selling as an MR and some selling the MR as an MR SE. Is there such a thing. From what I understood the MR was the top of the line model with the 6-speed tranny and the SE was a bare bones much less expensive version with the 5-speed tranny. I understand the SE had the aluminum roof and the BBS wheels like the MR but does that make it an MR??

There is an MR with the "Appearance Package," which has the SE bits, but no badge. It's an MR with the SE lip, wheels and seats. It still has the 6-speed, aero bits, etc from the MR.
Technically, there is no official MR SE model, but the combo listed above is often referred to as such ...

The SE differs from a MR by not having the less desirable 6-speed, and its associated bits, and the Bilstein suspension. It also didn't come with every single accessory installed, like the CF handbrake handle, the VG, the gauge package, etc. All those items were available as options on all other Evos. FWIW, I opted for the factory gauges and the brake cooling guides on my SE. As mentioned above, there's really no such thing as a MR SE. It's just a term used on the forums. Perhaps you're confusing the SE, which stood as the '07 model outside the USDM, with the RS? As for the pricing, when I bought my SE, I could have had a MR for a few hundred more. I just didn't want it, like many other Evo folks.

I know the sticker price for the MR was $37,995 with the aero package and the SE was $33,995. What did you pay for yours and why was there only a couple of hundred dollars difference rather than the $4,000 difference based on MSRP pricing?
If you'd like, I can try to find the sticker from my "MR SE" and scan it for you so you can see the difference between it and the standard MR. Nothing on the sticker says "SE" but it has all of the SE additions.
If you don't mind that would be great. Maybe we can have someone post a photo of the base MR window sticker too. Was the aero package part of the SE package or was that standard equipment on the MR?
As I didn't want to say anything less encouraging in your thread, I hope you're not disappointed when you find out that the MR is not the most desirable Evo, at least to the aficionados of the breed. Many folks look for MRs due to their rather absurdly unfounded street cred, but reality paints a different picture. Good luck.

I believe it was standard. there was the "Zero Lift Package" (front air dam, vortex generator, wickerbill on spoiler) and the "Appearance Package" (Diamond Black BBS, Red stitching, front lip). I'm pretty sure the MR had the Zero Lift parts standard, but it was a package for the other models.

IIRC, I paid ~32K and change for my SE. The dealer had to get the car, but they did have 2 MRs on the lot for months and months. Nobody wanted the MRs. BTW, what's an aero package?
